Carolee Clark is a painter residing in Philomath, Oregon. She works primarily with acrylic favoring the subject matter of landscapes and figures.
"Although I have been drawing for as log as I can remember, my mother gave me a small set of watercolors when I was a young adult which unlocked the world of color to me. In the early nineties, I began to pursue my love of painting more seriously.
Clark has been a full time artist since 1998. She began painting in watercolors, experimenting with pastels, and now works mostly in acrylics. Her friends tease her about continually trying new directions, never being satisfied with the work she is doing at the moment.
Clark does have lots of bold ideas and translates them into bold, beautiful paintings. She loves to exaggerate forms in a playful manner, explore new ideas, to use unusual colors, interesting calligraphic brush work and patterns. She believes that her love of drawing enables her to put down her ideas quickly, as realistically as she desires, and get to the business of addressing the color choices and application of paint.
Of the artistic community in which Clark resides, she says,
"Oregon has so many wonderful artists. The artists here in Corvallis, Albany and Philomath have been a great inspiration to me, and the opportunities in this community including the Vistas and Vineyards group, the Corvallis Art Guild, and Oregon Crafted have helped me tremendously."
Clark has exhibited in both Canada and the United States in numerous juried shows. Her work is held in private collections all across the United States, in Canada, Mexico, Europe and Australia.

He descubierto a esta artista en la escuela, buscando imágenes de la primavera para hacer una tapa de álbum y me ha fascinado la alegría que emana su obra.
